WEALTH ABIDES IN THE HEART Luke 15:12-14

12. And the younger of them said to his father; Father, give me he portion f goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with rioutous living
14. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

The prodigal son fell for the deception of the pseudo-wealth he had gathered from his father. Real wealth is not what you have in the bank or the buildings you have built, real wealth is what is in your heart. pseudo wealth has the tendency of deceiving people. It’s one of the warnings God gave us in the church, don’t let pseudo wealth make you fail the test of pride because the more things are increasing in your heart, the sfer for God to do more and give you more in your hand. If there’s nothing substantial in your heart and the things in your hands are increasing, it will destroy you. People like this permit success to separate them from God. The premature departure of the prodigal son from his father’s covering is one of the symptoms of pseudo-wealth. The elder brother had as much property as the prodigal but he stayed with the father, never disconnect. Absalom departed from David’s counsel, Gehazi departed from Elisha’s counsel and their end was nothing to be desired in the next generation.
The prodigal son had no plans for the future, no savings, no investments and he went to a far country; this is false autonomy when you’ve not learnt to do things well under authority and you claim autonomy. Such an individual will say “I can stand on my own”. Ask yourself if it is God’s direction for you to start something of your own now, or is it the season for somebody ahead of you to cushion your mistakes so that you can learn under him and you would have learnt something that money cannot buy. This is paying for your mistakes. When you eventually become autonomous, remember him.  He may be your elder brother who brought you under his wings in his shop and he’s training you how to do business, when you lost N150,000 he didn’t cut off your head because you’re of the same father and mother, he cushioned the pain and he paid for your mistakes.  There are some lessons in life hat you will learn at great cost, don’t repeat them again.
I remember a young man whose wife made his life miserable and tough because she refused to work under anybody; her classmate who went to work at the bank ended up as a bank manager.  She was very cocky and her husband was struggling as a pastor.  Beware of pride; it always goes before a fall.  Some people move into false autonomy not because they are trained but because they are proud and don’t want to serve under anybody!  Here are some people who can teach you the critical lessons of your calling, career and trade.  Some people got their wealth and success in an ungodly manner, such people will teach you how to die in sin but there are some other men who can teach you the legal way of succeeding in your business and you can learn from them.  Stay under them, stay under somebody.  Let somebody show you how to do something, learn it and learn it well.
Be sincere to ask yourself why am i moving into autonomy?  Some pastors have started their own ministries based on the evil of false autonomy without learning the critical details of their calling.  God ma have anointed you to start something later in your life but you need to learn the critical lessons somewhere.  I regularly ask people, “What are you learning?”  My wife and I go to some places and when we leave she asks, “Why didn’t you talk there, since you know more on the same subject than the people there?”  I would answer saying, “I wanted to know what they know”.  Most people are only interested in what they want to say, not what others want to say.  I decided years ago to do more listening than talking.  I’ve never seen anybody being arrested for keeping quiet.
Over the years, media people have asked me to grant interviews but I have said, “I’ve never done it and I don’t want to do it”.  Television stations ask, “Do you have anything to say sir?”  I say “I don’t have anything to say, if I do, I will say it on Sunday. Don’t build your life on the comment of people who don’t know you.  In the far country, no one knew the prodigal son and they assumed he was a success, but he had disconnected from the voice of reason and wisdom in his life.  The people in the far country though he was a success because he came with material thing but had nothing substantial in his heart.  Remember: It’s what is in your heart that will keep what is in your hand.  If your heart is empty, your purse will soon follow suit.  Money flowed away from this boy because there was nothing in his heart that could preserve what was in his hand.  He had no father, no counsel, no caution, no control, he had no positive company and he espoused a wrong lifestyle.
Luke 15:13
13.  And not many days after the younger son gathered all together; and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Let your heart be filled with value, kingdom insights, concepts, instructions and solutions to problems.  Just keep stocking your heart and the material things for your hand will come.  Take time to assess yourself on how rich you are in your heart. Don’t marry a man because he has a car, marry him because he knows where he is going.  There are things that should be in your heart, that is different from the things in your hand.
ELIMINATE WASTAGE FROM YOUR LIFE
Look at the following words in the life of the prodigal son: “Waste”, “Spent all”, “Famine” and “Want”.  Eliminate all forms of wastage from your life.  Eschew riotous living, flee from the wrong company because the company you keep will either bring rot or discipline into your life.  Which company are you keeping?  What effect does your company have on your life and your finances?  The prodigal son spent all!  You should prepare against the days of famine.  I taught in our church on how to develop a savings habit and that your target should be to at least save up to six months of your current salary. If anything happens in the present salary, you can at least have the same lifestyle for six months before you find something else to do.
Most times when young men come to see my wife to share their intentions to get married, they see my wife with the details of how they arrived at their decisions, either by leading or revelations, for example a young man may say i saw a vision, i saw a tree that stood over there and one stood here and fell down, the other one fell down and became tow rivers and they met together and i saw myself standing at one end of the river and the lady stood at the other end.  I often ask, “Where is your passbook?”  And he begins to stutter.  A man who does not have a saving habit does not have discipline, spending everything shows you are a prodigal son in the making.  You can’t be spending everything and think you are going to succeed in marriage.  I don’t have much respect for a man who doesn’t have a savings account.  He says, I’ve not opened one”, even though he has been working for two years.  It’s not too late to open a savings account.  Encourage your children to start and develop it.  There are things that the prodigal son should have seen and learned in his father.
Some brothers came to report a colleague of their who was living a life that was larger than his real level.  Anytime his colleague wanted to but sachet water, he would buy bottled water.  He assumed his colleagues were envious of him, but the reality was that he didn’t have caution in his life and one of the brothers who reported him had is upbringing with elderly people and he was able to move into his personal house  before his wedding so the matter of envy was out of the questions.  You should be doing major things with your life and not frivolous things;  why should you be comfortable to rug another man’s house when you colleagues are laying blocks on their building site?  Although i speak like this, i am not a youth minister but i am sent to talk to destinies of people.  Calling people back to their God-given destiny and speak to the destiny of people until it breaks forth.  I am committed to raising serious people who will be chief men in their generation.
You must know who not to marry and who not to work for.  If you work for a prodigal boss, like this man, the company will go bankrupt and they will owe you so many months’ salary.  If you do business with a prodigal person as your partner, he will spend your money carelessly along with his own.  This is not the type of person you want to trust with your investments.  Surround yourself with wisdom; you cannot find any unserious man of God as my friend, my friends create an atmosphere of soberness in me.  There are things we cannot think of doing because of the opinions of one another.
The prodigal son had bad habits; you must understand that habits determine your destination and not your vision.  Good vision or revelation of your future must be backed up by good habits if you will end up in a good destination in life.

LOCATING AND PURSUING THE VISION OF GOD THAT MARKS YOU OUT IN LIFE.

TEXT: EPH 2:10; JER 1:5; JER 29:11; RM 8:28-30

INTRODUCTION : Eph 2:10 “ for we are God’s [own] handiwork, (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined, (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which he prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. [AMPLIFIED]
There is the reality of a divine master plan for your life. There is a book written for you bearing your name indicating the Purpose of God for your Existence. Ps 40:7 “Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,”.
This is not a general will of God; it is precise detailed programme that God has marked out for you. Jer1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Welcome into this awesome journey of discovering your own Purpose in God and the Destiny that God has marked out for you. This is the reason why you came! It is the only thing that makes life sizzle in the midst of multiple disappointments among men.

WHEN A MAN DISCOVERS GOD’S PLAN FOR HIS LIFE
·         He finds a rewarding spring of fulfillment as the details of God’s plan unfolds to him
·         Every potential problem, challenges or battle he would ever face is already taken care of by the details of God’s purpose for him. He constantly access, Answers, Help and Solutions from heaven as he runs God’s agenda for his life.
·         It unlocks the peculiar beauty that God has reserved in your creation. You are created, called and prepared for something unique and beautiful in God’s agenda
·         It makes your life count beyond time – in eternal Excellency and a joy of many generations
·         You become a blessing and God’s Answer to your generation
·         You are privileged to become a significant part of the eternal activities and program of God on the earth
·         Your very living begins to bring constant Joy and Pleasure to the Heart of God like no one else is created to do
·         This is the ONLY true life to live. It is the reason why you came!
Then, the next question to ask is this:

HOW DO I LOCATE THE VISION OF GOD FOR MY LIFE?
1.    Be born again.
A man that has not come to God for the salvation of his soul cannot even know that God has a Grand plan for him talk less of seeking for and working in it.

2.    Develop a sound relationship with God.
After being born again, cultivating a sound spiritual walk with the Lord brings you into fellowship with His spirit and into the knowledge of the ways of God.
-        Your prayer life
-        Your bible study life
-        Your practice of obeying God
It is in intimacy with God that God begin to communicate His counsel and purpose for your life.
Many believers are afraid to SEEK the mind of God concerning His vision for their lives because they think finding God’s vision for your life always mean the pulpit ministry! Sure, that may be true for some but it is not always so. God has always called men into various capacities in life according to His plan for their lives e.g.
-        Joseph was an anointed administrator and public leader who served the purpose of God.
-        Daniel was a policy maker (politician) and government administration who was also an anointed prophet.
-        Mary was anointed peculiarly for the Family to raise Jesus with Godly values in a Godly atmosphere.
Many examples abound. You may be called of God to be a kingdom financier as a major business man advancing kingdom values among men and bringing men to the knowledge of the truth.
And yes, you may be called into the pulpit ministry or into the Helps ministry e.g. a music minister or minstrel But the most important thing is that you discover that peculiar purpose of God for you as you continue in an intimate fellowship with His Spirit not that you carve out one for yourself- that would be ambition. It won’t take you too far!
3.    Go all out to serve God’s purpose in the kingdom Exercising yourself to serve in the kingdom
-           Sharpens your sensitivity and makes you more open to uncover further details of God’s plan and   purpose for your life.
-           Brings upon you the GRACE you need for the things that God has marked out for you in life.
If you are asking how will serving well as an usher or in the outreach group have anything to do with the fact that God has called me into anointed leadership among men? Then you will need to ask what tending the sheep faithfully had to do with David’s becoming an administrator of men as a king and a policy shaper of a nation; you will need to ask what has Joseph faithfully serving others as a head prefect of slaves and prisoners got to do with becoming the man ruling the affairs of important nobles and even the economy of the nations of the earth in his day as God’s representative? This is the wisdom of God in preparing you and making you fit for what He has marked out for you.
4.    Enjoy and give yourself to spiritual activities that will sharpen your sensitivity to the mind of God for your life.
God will always communicate His plan to a man that seeks His will to follow him. Yours can’t be an exception. He may communicate it by
-        A vision / Dream that shows you a glimpse of His purpose for you (don’t however base your leadings solely on dreams)
-        It may be by a definite word from the Lord in your fellowship with God
-        It may just be a persuasion born out of your walk / fellowship with the Lord
-        It may be by a revelation or a word from the anointed that God has placed in your life ( not just any prophet that comes around you seeing a vision for you)

*(Get the book the reality of the spirit man)

 5. And this is why you need a Father!
An anointed voice over your life whose depth of wisdom in following the ways of God and whose matured spirit will help set your feet aright on the path of destiny. You can’t afford the steep price of living the TRIAL and ERROR kind of life when God has made a divine provision of FATHERS for us in the kingdom; Is 51:1-2 “Isa.51:1-2a “Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the LORD: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone and blessed him, and increased him”.
PURSUING THAT VISION FOR YOUR LIFE
Having a call or the knowledge of the vision of God for your life is not enough to automatically make you to fulfill that purpose. You need to be trained for it, equipped for it and prepared for it according to God’s training schedule which He maps out for you and this is His pattern in bringing you into it:
He gives you a Father, a Coach who he has given a schedule for equipping and training you on the practical road of destiny.
1.      Find your destiny Father and follow Him
-        He has what you lack but need in life
-        He has been to where you are going
-        He has walked and or is walking on what is troubling you. Mk 4:35
-        He has answers to the questions agitating your heart
-        He carries the spirit you need to fulfill your destiny
-        Ha has the jigsaw puzzle of your vision from God
-        He has conquered enemy you’ll still face
-        He has the commanding assignment / vision that contains or influences yours. Acts7:46-47
-         He has the strength and depth to correct you for excellence in the purpose of God.

Learn from him, receive actively into your life, the values and virtues you learn from him, HEAR him, observe and SEE his manner of life, then follow and do the same things.
Examples of Biblical Fathering for destiny
Ø  Moses and Joshua
Ø  David and Solomon
Ø  Elijah and Elisha
Ø  Mordecai and Esther
Ø  Naomi and Ruth
Ø  Paul and Timothy
Ø  Jesus and the Disciples

2.      Be fully planted in the kingdom (church) family that God has placed you for your destiny to happen.
This involves submitting the details of your life to the KINGDOM STRUCTURE IN THE HOUSE by which God will equip, train, shape, sharpen and mould you for your place in destiny. (We have considered some of these steps earlier and it will be fully considered in the seminar classes).

THE DISTRACTIONS THAT WILL SURELY COME!
When you determine to follow the plan of God for your life, setting your face like a flint to follow the road of destiny, there are some DISTRACTIONS that will always show up, threatening to break your focus. You must be aware of them and choose rather to yield to the PROGRAM of God for your life.

1        The Enticement of pursuing a “Good Life” Naturally, as against yielding yourself to the demands of your road of training and equipping in destiny.
2        The Reality of Emotional Pressures  from people who ‘love’ you but lack an understanding of your Destiny / Purpose in God and God’s road to take you there.
a.       Family Pressures: Many times such pressures seek to excuse you from the demands of the road that God has chosen for you.
While you must respect and appreciate their genuine love you must never trade or compromise the details of demands of the road that God has chosen for you.
b.      Pressure from Friends and acquaintances: if you must keep an acquaintance    bring them to respect the details of God’s demands for your life. Else, you rather need companion who are also journeying with you on the road of destiny and not those slowing you down or hindering you.
c.      Strong general opinions / societal dreams, expectation or goals for you: for example A young man with 1st class who had the call of God upon his life into full time ministry who was persuaded by colleagues, professors who taught him, the university and his parents that he had a better prospect to pursue his masters and get a “well paid job” before “doing the work of God”!
d.      Enticement of personal plans / personal idols or self will: those things you have chosen in preference to or above the will of God for your life.
3.            Pressure of  Career / Profession :  almost every career demands 28 out of your 24 hours, demands in increasing attention and commitment which you can be quick to explain and justify, but you must ask yourself some destiny bothering question
“What exactly are my priorities in life?”
“Will career use the substance of my destiny or will God use it?”
When you know and determine what is important {of greater priority to your existence on the earth} you will learn the wisdom to restructure your life in such away that the pursuit of destiny takes the priority.
Never plunge yourself into any job or work or posting that will bury the program of God for your life.      That is against divine order!

Examples of those who got distracted
·         Jonathan – Emotional (Family) distraction
·         Samson   - Personal pleasures / self will
·         Demas     - Pressure / love for the world
·         Rich young Ruler – Enticement of good life

Dear Achiever, do not add your name to this list by yielding to any of these DISTRACTIONS on the road of destiny. Consider men who refused to be distracted like Joseph, like Daniel, Like Paul and follow their path.

CONCLUSION
Beloved, a Joy and a Glory in God awaits you if you follow through the road and the program that God has marked out for you in destiny. As you set your face like a flint to follow the program of God all the way, may you turn out as that MASTER PIECE that God has designed you to be in destiny in the name of Jesus .Amen

HOW TO AVOID SATANIC ALTERNATE DESTINY BY YOUNG ACHIEVERS

In as much as we all have a God ordained destiny which we are meant to fulfill, we should not be ignorant of the fact that the devil is not sleeping. He also has an alternate plan for each and every one of us. As the mission of the devil is to steal, kill and destroy, he will do anything to destroy you. A very easy way the devil gets to do this is by giving you an alternate destiny. Once he can get you outside the will of God, he can do as he wills with you. The bible says, he that breaks the edge, him shall the serpent bite.
Knowing fully well that the devil is on the rampage, looking for whom to devour, it is important you guide your God-given destiny jealously. Below are some factors that can help you to in avoiding satanic alternatives.
A.     Your relationship with God – Your determination to know God and more of Him will deliver you from satanic alternate program. The bible says, those that know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploit. The great exploit of your destiny cannot be carried out until you have relationship with the owner of that destiny. You must know the law of God. Deut 25:1-2. What law of God is binding you in your career, relationship e.t.c?  For example any job that will not give you time for God, cannot be from God. It is satanic alternate destiny.
B.     Your relationship with people – Relationship plays a crucial role in our lives and destiny. Who are your friends?
According to Daddy’s (Rev. Olusola Areogun) teachings, there are three kinds of relationship you can find yourself as far as your destiny is concerned.
  1. The first is the relationship that reduces you right from the time you get involved in it. It could be marriage, acquaintances e.t.c. This type of relationship takes you backward. Another name for this is destiny reductase. Reductase is an enzyme that reduces anything it acts on. The same thing happens in some relationships; they take you backward and gradually take you away from your destiny. Ask yourself; the relationship you are in now, what has it done to you? Has it reduced you physically, spiritually, financially? e.t.c
  2. The second category of relationship here is the relationship that does not add anything to you; neither do they intend to take anything from you. I call this destino static. In this relationship, they don’t encourage you to pursue your destiny. It could be marriage, family, and acquaintances. They tell you that being a Christian is enough. Anytime you try to do something extra for God, they will come with words like “are you the one that killed Jesus?”
When you are involved in this relationship, devil is always happy in the sense that it is very easy for him to give alternate destiny to you. Ask yourself this question; this relationship that I am in, has it added anything to me spiritually, financially, physically e.t.c?
  1. The third category is the relationship that every Christian should pray to have in life, the relationship with people that can take them to the next level. I call this destino catalase. This relationship will never leave you at the level they met you, rather, they will take you to the next level of your destiny. They encourage you and make sure you pursue the things of God, as pertain to your destiny. They jack you up spiritually, financially, physically e.t.c. They perceive divine call upon your life and help you to fulfill it. This at times could come through your church, mentor, friends e.t.c. What is important to them is your calling and destiny.
C.     Your relationship with your destiny father/mentor: I have never seen a ship that gets to the port    without a sailor. You cannot escape satanic alternate destiny without a father or mentor in your life. Your destiny father is the one that perceive your calling and destiny and groom and equip you for it. They give you sense of direction and time for your destiny and calling. You have to obey them and follow their faith, Heb 13:7.
There are 3 important things the bible wants us to do according to this passage.
·         What they speak to you i.e word of God
·         What to follow in their lives: their faith
·         Their  manner of life: imitate the outcome of their well spent life
The question now is, who is your father or mentor and what do you follow in their lives? For you to escape satanic alternate destiny, you have to answer these questions. For instance, in this ministry, we know that our Daddy and Mummy are our mentor. Have you observed and followed these 3 important things in their lives?
D.     What is in your heart: What you cherish most and idolize in your heart will determine whether or not you will yield to satanic alternate destiny. For example, some people have resolved in their heart that come rain or sun, they will settle in the United States irrespective of God’s plan for their lives. These kinds of people have already exposed themselves to satanic alternate destiny. All the devil does is to give them an opening, maybe through visa lottery. The bible says I will answer you according to the idol in your heart. Therefore, it is important for you to search your heart and guide it jealously.
E.     Your divine assignment: If you diligently pursue your divine assignment, you automatically become excluded from satanic appointment. As it is often said, an idle hand is the devil’s workshop. Embrace your assignment and don’t allow the devil to distract you with mockery. It may seem that your colleagues that are not destiny conscious are making it fast but always remember that the future does not belong to those doing fast but those doing it right. God will always be faithful to reward your labour of love. Do you have an assignment assigned to you directly by God or through His servant? If you think you have a direct assignment, have you cross-checked with your confirmer? No assignment, No destiny!
In conclusion, it is important to make conscious decisions to guard your heart and the relationships you have so that you do not fall prey for satan’s alternate destiny.
